Mint vs Magnetik

Posted by: Corin

After a disappointing loss to Birmingham Salvo yesterday, Mint need a win today to have a chance of getting the 8th and final place in the World Finals.

Stockholm Magnetik were only defeated by one round last night at the hands of the Berlin Allianz, so this won't be a walkover for the London side, but they will be going into the game full of confidence, says Mint GM Ben Woodward:

Yesterday's game against Salvo was one of the most emotional matches i've ever taken part in. We were all quite confident before entering the arena but when we got on stage nothing clicked, everything we'd worked on for a month fell to pieces. Salvo were very strong and fully deserved the victory, we only have our selves to blame for not making it closer.

Today's game against Stockholm should be different, we know how each of their teams play, they also know how we play, but we're extremly confident we'll win, despite some of the maps/tracks we have to play not exactly being in our favour, ie Tuscan..

Counterstrike Source

Mint's CSS side definitely underachieved yesterday against Salvo, in contrast to Magnetik's 10-8 victory over the Berlin side, but past meetings between the two sides look to be in Mint's favour, with the vast majority of practise games in the past month going London's way, including a 10-0 victory over Stockholm a few days ago, on the very map to be played tonight, de_tuscan.

Mint – ritch, HenryG, url, Hughsy, HudzG
Magnetik – ferus, haz, giftig, red, sparkle

Forza Motorsport 2

Two very fast teams, Mint will go into this match hoping that their teamwork that has been developing since the start of season one can pay off. Both these teams won their games 4-3 last night, and both will be trying to go one better tonight, looking for the 6-1 scoreline.

Mint – Stune, Nt_101
Magnetik – ibryce, madness_

Dead Or Alive 4

The last meeting between Strobe and miss was in the UK and EU pre-draft tournament in Birmingham, which saw London's Strobe sail past with a 5-0 victory. While miss will look to improve on our 5-0 loss to Berlin Allianz last night, Strobe will certainly be a strong favourite here.

Paddaman pulled out an impressive 5-3 victory over the favoured messy last night, so he will be going into tonight's game full of confidence, and while it should be a good game to watch, Ben will definitely be expecting a repeat performance from yesterday.

Mint – Paddaman, Strobe
Magnetik – skatanmilla, miss

FIFA

As we saw when LA's Kreegan saw his goalkeeper get sent off earlier in the season, the goalkeepers' in Fifa can be quite frustrating at times, but rarely so much as ChrisyB's was last night, when it for no apparent reason decided to side-step, creating an own goal for London Mint.

I'm sure Chrisy will be far more careful tonight, and if he can get back his form from the last few months, he should have no trouble taking on istvan.

Mint – ChrisyB
Magnetik – istvan

Why is that ''gay''?

The loser does not advance in the competion...... What is ''gay'' about that? Mint could have made it with one win against salvo but now they still have another shot. Not that bad imo....

Make some sense, plz.

tuscan is classy map, its better that they're using maps like season an tuscan, mix it up a bit for the teams playing, for example carolina core don't even have any solid tactics yet for tuscan cuz its newish to them (i mean solid on the scale theyre used to), thats a good thing though imo..

They play the 3rd ranked NA team to see which one gets into the world finals.

Yes... if Mint beat the 3rd ranked NA team then they take the 8th slot in the world finals, from which point they just need to win all their games (like any of the other teams in the world finals)
