London Mint Win MySites Invite Tournament

Posted by: xilef

Yesterday a one night tournament was announced by MySites.com, where the top teams in Europe would fight it out for 750 Euros first prize.

Featuring almost every top team in the scene, this was one of the most prestigious online tournaments of recent times, and there was a lot more than prize money at stake.

Mint's first match was against the French team BIGGER, formerly known as DSKyline. Although they are a very formidable team, Mint made short work of them, finishing with a convincing 16-4 win in their favour. They then progressed to the 2nd round where they would play eSuba, the recent winners of LAN79, and one of the biggest teams in Europe. However, Mint would still not be deterred, with a dominant 16-2 win, putting them into the final 4 teams.

At this point Mint had a chance to play their CGS rivals, Birmingham Salvo. Despite Salvo recently being rated the best team in Europe by a panel of top players and influencial members of the scene, London Mint managed to beat them 16-10, and progress to the finals.

Here they faced the French emuLate, one of the best teams in Europe, and one of the most respected. After a disappointing placing at LAN79 they were looking for blood, but would not find it in the Mint camp, as Mint won the tournament with a 16-14 win, claiming their prizemoney and the respect that goes with it.

Congratulations to the team for the win!

Well Played, I was on the edge of my seat when you were on ct and Emulate were just 2 rounds from taking the win. But you stood your ground and pulled the rounds back. Good Job!
