HenryG on the World Finals

Posted by: Corin

Hey Henry, how was LA?

L.A is one of my favourite places in the world, i always love going there and this time wasn't any different. The weather was great and we had plenty of free time to see the sights.

With 2 wins and 1 loss, how do you rate the CS:Source squad's performance overall while in LA?

We were happy with the overall scores, beat two solid teams and made sure that we all pulled our weight for the London mint franchise.

Overall we had a lot of decent practice for future events and we can only improve from here!

What went wrong against Salvo, and what would you do to change that scoreline if you were to replay the match?

It just wasn't our day, losing all the clutches and the money situation was horrible. Salvo put a lot of hard work in for that game and it showed, they knew our weakness' inside out and we were exploited for them. It was our first game on the stage as a team and we realised what we had to do to improve and did so versus Stockholm the next game.

You guys started off so strong against Optx, and it looked to be a blowout, but they clawed it back towards the end. How happy were you with the final scoreline?

Although we were happy with the win, of course we know we could of won it by a lot more! we knew so much was riding on the result and when we felt it slipping we tried to adapt and kept getting caught with our trousers down! Overall a win is a win for CSS and we can use that morale boost for future events.

Do you feel there were any weaknesses in your squad, or did everyone hold their own?

Not so much weaknesses but people having bad days or getting used to the stage environment, not everyone was completely happy with their performance but at the end of the day it's a team game and we're looking to develop as a team, not individually.

We know everyone on the team is capable of pulling something awesome out of the bag when needed so no major changes will be happening any time soon.

What will you (as a squad) do differently going into next season?

Try and be a bit more prepared for specific enemies, we know we need to start watching demo's of the opposition together instead of trying to guess how they play and hoping for the best!

But hopefully by next season we will be a more experienced team and will of ironed out all of the problems we had!

Any stories to tell about your time in LA?

Well I’m not sure what the most fun we had was but I can certainly remember the most amusing!

Before we all sat down to watch the film Hancock (which is awesome by the way, go go go!) Tom (url) purchased some shorts and as we sat down in the cinema he placed them on the floor.

As the film finished Tom walked off and I looked on the floor and there was the bag, me and wilzOO looked at each other and saw the opportunity!

I took the shorts and caught up with tom on the escalator. I waiting until we were about half way up before I said "Tom where's your shorts?!" I have never seen some one with such a small head run so fast backwards down an escalator barging everyone out of his way! Let's just say he wasn't best pleased when he found out I had them! :D

Haha, thanks for your time Henry.
